Slate Vinyl & Leather Finish
Slate is a medium grey. It’s darker than Stone but lighter than Peppercorn.

Use our water-based finishes to restore and condition:
- absorbent aniline and semi-aniline leather,
- non-absorbent full-grain or top-grain leather,
- and vinyl upholstery.
Our finishes wonāt sunfade or backstain like leather dyes. They don't feel plasticky, flake or peel like spray paints.
Do not use on fabric, suede, nubuck, bonded or faux leather.
Store in a temperate, dark place away from children.

Changing color is best suited to absorbent leather.
If the material repels water and will be heavily used, consider adding 1 part special order Satin Sealer to 4 parts color to improve durability. Thorough cleaning and stress testing the color are critical!
The following are not good candidates and will require touch-up:
- changing from red / dark to white / pale;
- worn, cracking, scaly or thinning leather;
- furniture with lots of wrinkles, folds, deep creases (and therefore stress);
- pieces that are heavily used or harshly cleaned (kids, dogs, chemicals);
- car or boat upholstery (for these we suggest a heavier urethane coating);
- bonded, faux or polyurethane (PU) āleatherā which repel all finishes (including their own).
Here's what wear looks like on non-absorbent leather or vinyl:

Really works well. One 16oz bottle got me 3 coats on a large sectional.
first. Iām so glad I did. Dyed mustard color sofa to the slate color. Turned out great.
Thank you for a fantastic product!
So I thought Iād give it a try on my 1999 Caribe dinghy with hypalon neoprene tubes which were faded and worn. Many people use ādinghy paintā on the hypalon tubes, but it cracks and looks āfakeā. I used two colors of gray and applied two coats of this product. Bam! Dinghy tubes look new. The product doesnāt wipe off, itās been in salt water, rain and FL sun. The photos show the product being applied (note all the little cracks it fills in) and then hanging off my trawler boat all finished.
I washed with warm water and Dawn dish soap (bucket w rag and wrung out the rag). Then rubbing alcohol on all surfaces. Then three coats of SLATE. In the after photo, you can see the seats are glossy. I had used one coat of sealer on the cushions. I revised my strategy and mixed color/sealer 50/50 and did another two coats to make it more of a matte finish. Worked perfectly.
Thanks again! Iāve told ALL my friends about this product!
