I am extremely pleased with the entire process!

I appreciate the excellent customer service from Lesandre.  She was able to recommend exactly what I needed and how to get the best results in trying to repair a tricky small corner areas along with how to best color match for a final finish color to where it is now barely noticeable!!!!

I also appreciate the precise instructions and having a custom kit put together for only what I needed as I was not sure where to even start!

Thank you so much, all of the products and materials you sent worked GREAT!  Highly recommend!!!

My pontoon boat seats were badly in need of restoration. A couple were severely sun-damaged with a few holes (dog nail damage) that I needed to patch. For all but the most severely damaged, the result was amazing. I need to do more work and/or replace the vinyl in a couple of instances. The picture is before/after on a pad that was pretty sun-burned. On the top/most exposed to sun surfaces, I used the fill to put a thin coat on the entire surface with great results. Thanks for solving at least most of my vinyl problem.

I used this on 4 cracked leather chairs that I thought I'd have to replace and now they're smooth and look new. The excellent instruction videos on the website made it easy to apply the product correctly and a small jar was enough for the whole project. I wish I'd taken before photos so I can show you how well it worked.

    Reply from lesandre:
Thanks for the feedback, and kind words! We tested Furniture Clinic's filler alongside ADV's Soft Filler in 2015 and found Furniture Clinic's to be fluffier and more difficult to work with, especially in feathering and texturizing, LOL. Both, however, have held up flawlessly on a vinyl chair that remains in heavy use in our shop.

This works as advertised!! I have a 15-year-old Design Within Reach couch that has seen better days...just patched holes and restored sun-cracked arms and seat cushions and should get another few years out of it! My work isn't quite as good as the videos, but I'm happy with it and waiting for the next hole to pop up so I can refine my work! :-)
    Reply from lesandre:
A challenging repair! Nicely done. You can always come back and re-work your repairs. Just use a little rubbing alcohol to strip off most the color. Allow to dry, and apply another coat or two of filler until level, do a final texturizing coat, and then reapply color.

I used the subpatch kit, leather filler, and leather finish. I manage several short term rental homes and have come across rips and tears in leather on several occasions that I have had to address. This time, however, a large hole had been worn through a rather bare arm on a chair that needed a larger fix than I have had to do before. The subpatch was very sturdy and and worked wonderfully. I also found the leather filler to work just as described and looked/felt great. The arm of this chair is now more sturdy than it has been in many years. I didn't quite get the color right, but that is mainly due to the very faded nature of the leather. I'm confident that if I had contacted the owners of this business they could have easily matched for me, but this was not something the owners of the home were willing to pay for. However, even with the slightly different color of the dye, the fix is so much better than before. I will be using this product again in all of the homes I manage.

I love this stuff. I repaired a couple of small tears in my Chesterfield sofa and didn’t even have to touch up the dye. Then I put it all over the more worn parts. My sofa is almost 40 years old and it hasn’t looked this good in the last 20 years! I ordered more and did it again. I love how easy it is and what a vast improvement it makes! Saved my sofa!

Very happy with the results. I was able to patch some seriously damaged mid century leather cushions. I patched and filled some extensive rips and cracks, and repaired numerous areas of worn leather. My technique improved over time, and the rips aren’t really noticeable at this point. The dried filler is tough and flexible. And the color match was perfect, just from the photos I sent! I’m very pleased with the results and look forward to my next project.

The cream was very soft and it did not cure well even after 24h. The result is ok but I was expecting it to be much better.
    Reply from lesandre:
The filler will take a long time to cure without an additional heat source. We recommend an incandescent bulb or sunshine (see step 5 in the written instructions that come with the filler). Uncured adhesive used in a subpatch or residue on the material prior to application of filler can also prevent proper curing. More info here.

I’m pleased with the results. I tried another leather filler product with decent reviews that offered free shipping, but it peeled after a few weeks even though I had used a sub patch and followed instructions. I then ordered Rub N Restore soft filler, and it worked very well. I followed the exact instructions included & watched the video several times. I had to sand & clean off some of the old filler using acetone, then applied the new Soft Filler from RNR. I did sand & clean off the soft filler a few times to do it over because of not being patient about letting it cured before fidgeting with the results. I finally finished after several thin layers and waiting until the next day before trying to retouch! It turns out the filler gets more translucent & blended as it cures. I then applied a light coat of the color filler from the other kit I had (Cocomix)using a small piece from a clean silver polishing sponge. Again, I had to make myself wait until it was completely dry and cured before giving it a light sanding with the fine sanding paper (600) & carefully blending with a light coat of isopropyl alcohol per instructions included with the Rub N Restore Soft Filler. I may still add another layer to get a complete cover up.

You are simply amazing. Your videos are well thought out and very inspiring. Hated to see you take out a knife and cut clean leather. Then astounded when I saw how you repaired it. Yes, this can be done by mere mortals.

One needs to watch the videos. Take notes. See what works. Take more notes. Watch more videos by Lesandre. For this, I got a sense of what to do as I went along. It's DIY!!! Yet. Lesandre is there NICELY to comment on emails. Couchman  / Client for Life!! - you are so nice to give pointers. Couldn't have done this without you!!

The product is very expensive for the amount you receive. Also was not informed that duties and customs are not included when shipped to canada. I purchased the larger container of the compound. There was not enough to repair 4 dining chair seat cushions. All showing wear on the leather. I had enough for only 2 of the seat cushions. I am using a leather paint to change the colour. After painting the chairs the wearing was still noticeable. In the end I went to home depot. Bought paintable caulking, smoothed out the wearing parts painted, sanded them painted again. The chairs look great and only paid $10 for the caulking as opposed to the Rub n Restore order of 1. Scraping tool, 2. Patch kit and 3. Compound. Which cost me $89 with US exchange, then another $37.80 in COD with arrival of the product.

I received the Soft Filler and I think it’s great.

I applied several very thin layers to the mesh substrate where the vinyl had cracked and flaked off and made sure there was good adhesion with the remaining vinyl fragments. I only removed a few small pieces that were peeling away. I allowed each layer to dry and very lightly scuffed the final coat with 600 to ensure it was smooth.   While I was tempted to try and texture the finish I was satisfied with the way it turned out and made a custom color dye to reasonably match the surrounding seat material.

I’ve attached before and after photos. The lighting wasn’t great but I’m very pleased with the way it turned out and hope that the repair holds up to the wear it’s going to see.

Thanks again for your advice and videos.   I give the product two thumbs up.

I bought a western saddle and it had damage to the seat. It had two holes in the seat and I could see someone tried to fill them with some kind of filler. I found your YouTube video and watched it several times to see if the Soft Filler might work on a saddle. Well it did and I can say I’m so glad I bought the filler and followed all the directions. It took five applications to get the holes filled. I did let the filler dry in the sun and waited 24hrs to apply the next application. I just need to die that section of the seat to blend in with the saddle. Great product well worth the money.

I was using the leftovers from a friend who ordered the leather repair products from a company in Canada. I liked the repair compound or filler just fine. It worked well up to the point in my repair that I needed more. But I ran out of repair compound from the other company before my job was done, and I didn't want to wait so long (my friend said it took a couple weeks to get. So I found Rub-n-Restore and ordered the repair compound. Omygosh, I cannot tell you how much better this product is. The product from Canada was only a month old, so it wasn't because it was expiring. The Rub-n-Restore filler was so much easier to to work with and to get to look smooth without sanding so much! And the price through Rub-n-Restore was very affordable. Plus I got the filler in the mail two days after I ordered it! The repair compound was high quality and made my repair look great! And the customer service was excellent! Thank you Rub-n-Restore!

Two applications so far and it's working well. I'm saving my 25-year-old leather couches from the dumpster. They had tears and a lot of cracking. Patched the tears first, then applied this filler, then the leather paint. It's working well, but will take a few more applications to make it completely smooth. All-in-all, I'm very please with the product. For $100 investment, it's worth it to keep the couches for a couple more years.

I used FC1 Soft Leather Filler to fill in a cracked area on the side of the chair. The area was roughly 3 x 2 inches and had several thin surface cracks which had not went all the way through to the base layer. I had tried another product which had not worked very well. I then did some more research and found this filler and used it to repair a faux leather sectional. It worked as described and I am extremely pleased with the results. It is easy to use and dries to a flexible finish. I used a leather vinyl paint after the repair and it has blended in to give an exact match. I would certainly use this again.

I applied several very thin layers to the mesh substrate where the vinyl had cracked and flaked off on a car seat and made sure there was good adhesion with the remaining vinyl fragments.

I’m very pleased with the way it turned out and hope that the repair holds up to the wear it’s going to see. Thanks again for your advice and videos.

I've tried some other brands, but love this filler the best! Easy to use and dries quickly.

I tried other products from different companies before I found Rub n Restore. They didn't come with a filler compound which is just one of the reasons why they didn't work. Can't say enough about this filler compound. Filled in the hole so I was able to dye and save a very expensive leather couch.

Easy to use. Only negative is that it is hard to get a smooth finish.

Took a chance and ordered this to try to fix a peeling bonded leather sofa. I had 2 cushions that had extensive peeling on the front half of them. Ordered 2, 1 oz jars. Glad I did, as I needed most of that! Skimmed the surface with this, and re-did parts as needed. It dried pliable and filled in cracks. Just had a problem after it dried, as it says to lightly sand if needed, but the marks didn't sand out. Recommend reallllly making sure you have a smooth surface after your application. So happy with this product!

    Hi Lesandre and CC:

Got the 'slate' and 'stone' dyes (along with the patching compound) yesterday.

2 words: 'WOW' and 'THANKS'. Both the sofa and chair (approx. 15 years old) literally look brand new. Unfortunately, I didn't take 'before' pictures, but the transformations are truly incredible. You're selling a phenomenal product (but you already knew that)!!!

Thanks for all your help. The best match ended up being the rust and cherrywood. I first did a layer of rust, then a layer of cherrywood, and then added a glaze of both mixed with the clear prep finish and the result is awesome! I only painted the 3 seat cushions, the back cushions and arm rests are the original color. Thank you again.
