We live in Florida and in winter the weather is nice so we open up for fresh air at night. We used your product Wed, and had the heat on the first couple days so it dried and was no problem but then it warmed enough to open up. Sunday morning, the back of my shirt was black, and it has continued coming off on my clothes and wearing off the recliner. It worked as advertised so long as the humidity stayed low.
This is unusual and should be easily corrected. Buff the surface with a dry rag to remove any unstable pigment and allow more time to cure. If the issue persists, a clear sealer can be added for durability. Our Clear Prep+Finish can be quite shiny on its own. We do also offer a special order Satin Sealer. Fear not, the shirt can be saved. Pre-treat it (washing soda or borax are great if you have it), and launder as usual. It should wash out. Our stuff doesn't permanently stain fabric except in its liquid state.

At this point, my sense is that the color, midnight blue, is not as dark as the sample that was sent. Also, It's been about 8 days since application and I can still rub off some color with a terry cloth rag if I apply only a moderate amount of pressure. I'll give it more time (luckily I tested it in an inconspicuous location) but I'm kind of discouraged at this point. The chair I'm hoping to "treat" is in good shape and made of high quality leather. I'm trying to restore the original color (dark blue) which has faded a bit more than I'd like.
Blue is made with organic (not mineral) pigments and can sometimes be a little fussier. Dry buff the surface with a rag, as you have, until unstable pigment stops transferring. Pre-treating the rag (and any clothing) with washing soda or borax should remove the pigment after laundering. If deemed necessary, our Clear Prep+Finish or the special order Satin Sealer over the top can add an additional layer of protection.

Got the custom color which matched perfectly. Followed directions for proper preparation of our bonded leather sectional and applied the color to the furniture as directed and waited 4 hours for it to dry. Then I mixed the sealer with color to get the degree of shine we desired and applied it as recommended. We did not use the furniture for six days to allow it to dry completely. Now after less than a week of sitting on it the finish is coming off and we are very disappointed. Great idea, but with our bonded leather furniture it did not have any durability. I wonder if full grain leather would have a better result. I sure wouldn't try it and be disappointed.
We generally discourage restoration of bonded leather for reasons enumerated here. Our stuff doesn't stick to bonded leather well, and we would have noticed this in working with your swatch and formulating your color. Are you certain yours is indeed bonded leather? Perhaps the issue is in cleaning prior to restoration?

Used this to spruce up a leather suitcase repurposed as a coffee table. It looks fine. Darker than I hoped. I'm most concerned about the warning label saying "Suspected of causing cancer". I used the conditioner/ sealer product for several layers after coloring, but red coloring wipes off the table when I try to clean with a damp cloth, even after drying and a week later.
Thanks for taking the time to review our products, Sarah. The scary language on the bottle is mandated by law and also assumes daily exposure and airborne application via spray gun. Likely there are cleaners and flame retardants on furniture in your home that are far worse. You can learn more about all the ingredients in our products and look at the safety data sheets here.
Wish we'd had the opportunity to consult on this fun project. A table (which experiences more liquids, cleaning) would perhaps do better with a special order acrylic-urethane sealer.

You probably just need some Clear Prep+Finish to add luster. The colors dry matte.

I wish change white to one of these chosen colors.

I used this and Furniture Clinic's Leather Heavy Filler. I like Furniture Clinic's better- the texture is more like leather and it's easier to work with. Love Rub n' Restore as a company though.
Thanks for the feedback, and kind words! We tested Furniture Clinic's filler alongside ADV's Soft Filler in 2015 and found Furniture Clinic's to be fluffier and more difficult to work with, especially in feathering and texturizing, LOL. Both, however, have held up flawlessly on a vinyl chair that remains in heavy use in our shop.
The black didn't work for me. Dried very flat and not very dark. Even after adding a clear coating over it, it wasn't a very dark black.
Didn't have great success in removing oily residue on head piece of leather recliner

The product is very expensive for the amount you receive. Also was not informed that duties and customs are not included when shipped to canada. I purchased the larger container of the compound. There was not enough to repair 4 dining chair seat cushions. All showing wear on the leather. I had enough for only 2 of the seat cushions. I am using a leather paint to change the colour. After painting the chairs the wearing was still noticeable. In the end I went to home depot. Bought paintable caulking, smoothed out the wearing parts painted, sanded them painted again. The chairs look great and only paid $10 for the caulking as opposed to the Rub n Restore order of 1. Scraping tool, 2. Patch kit and 3. Compound. Which cost me $89 with US exchange, then another $37.80 in COD with arrival of the product.

I used Rub 'N Restore Clear Prep and Finish and on our leather sofa, two leather chairs, and four leather barstools. The sofa, chairs and barstools were all made by different manufacturers with different grades and shades of brown leather.
I carefully followed the directions for preparation, cleaning, and application. The results were all the same, and disappointing. It did not leave any luster, as the product promised, although the sofa had a nice shine when new. Additionally, all the leather furniture had been soft and supple, and after use of the product, became stiff and rough like sandpaper. The dog's nail marks on the leather sofa, which never showed before, are now clearly visible.
I would never use this product again nor recommend it to others.

The product did add a gloss like it said. However, it did peal off in some areas even though I applied it as directed.

I did NOT have success with this product. I was very disappointed that it did not achieve the look that the company said it would. 🙁 I have a leather couch with small worn areas with little cracking in the leather.
We really didn’t use the sandpaper. The bleach wash and Prep Solution was enough.

The product seemed great at first... I did everything exactly by the book I also bought a special applicator to use with the product.. and after painting the couch we didn’t use it for 4 days just in case to let everything to dry well!! But now 2 months later everything is back exactly to the way it looked before all the paint is gone!! And its after I’ve put three layers... very very disappointed!!!!
Was more rust than burgundy

First off, get the free swatches! The product itself is pretty good however the color? It's terrible! The color looks nothing like the online photo even after days of drying. I honestly think my chair ( the parts that I stained ) looks worse now then it did before I tried to "fix" it. Now I need something to cover this awful orange. I can't believe others have said it looks just like the online color depicted. I'm wondering if I got a bad batch or something. Anyway I would recommend buying a darker shade or getting the swatches before buying a big bottle.

After many times of trying cleaning and applying dye that I bought, I still have an issue with coloring. It does not bond into the vinyl or leather deep enough it looks to me that it is just a top, thin layer of dye that could be erased easily with cloth and a little bit of water. I know that you will be saying that never happened before it is just I do something wrong, but believe me I went 100 times completely through the website and the notes. It does not work as described. I am very disappointed of the poor product, but the company did refund me.
