Product works great, easy to use, dries fast, shipping was fast.

BEWARE the final WALNUT color is very different then what is shown online.

After three coats on two separate chairs, the color is far lighter then expected. One chair was originally light brown and the other was a dark olive green. Both chairs came out the same light milk chocolate hue.

Yes there is a note in the description on the site about the chocolate milk color, but the swatch shown was what I was after.

Now I have to order another bottle of a darker color to get the chairs darker... what a pain, not to mention the $$$.

I have an older storefront vinyl awning that would have costed $6k to replace. I tried the Rub & Restore dye and I now have a new awning. Fantastic product.

After looking at various products to restore a sofa and love seat, Rub’n Restore was the choice. The phone support prior to placing the order was informative and convincing. The leather that was being restored was of a high grade, with a waxed finish, walnut color. I was skeptical about applying any dye, but the pieces were so faded I had nothing to lose. The product was shipped promptly, and included instruction, plastic gloves and stirrers. I first mixed 1 teaspoon of walnut colorant with 1 teaspoon of glaze (1:1 ratio). This was then applied to a hidden, test area of the sofa. After a few tries with various ratios and application methods, ...More

The project was straight forward, requires no experience. The finish product did not looked “painted” but very natural. Thank you!

I could not even have even imagined that this product would work as well as it did. It was amazing just after one coat!! I ordered the walnut. It was here in three days. I was thinking it was a bit darker but ended up loving that it was not. The oil spot on the back of the chair was almost completely gone after the first coat. The coverage on the chair was amazing. Used only a half of a bottle after three coats. I can't wait to try this on another piece of leather furniture. LOVE!!

I am thrilled with your product. Not only did it arrive extremely quickly, I was able to transform a hideous shiny, metallic pink couch into a much nicer brown one in a few hours. I feared that it would not work on such a shiny surface, but it did so, admirably, especially with a clear coat first and last. I will definitely recommend your product highly. Thanks again!

I ordered Walnut but it was more of a milky brown. Was a little disappointed in that but the coverage was great.

So happy with your product! I got it yesterday and used it on my couch and loveseat today and I am THRILLED! It was as easy as you said and since the colors were so close, on the majority of the furniture, I only had to use one coat! One seat cushion had a lot of wear and scratches. There are NONE now! :-) I still have part of the 8 oz bottle left for any touch ups I may need to do. As long as the wear is good, I will be a lifelong customer and will be recommending this to everyone! We just bought a house and are almost done with a total renovation. I'm a ten satisfied. The change is amazing! It was incredibly easy to apply, and the cost is very reasonable. Other companies have products that don't even compare to this quality for five times as much. The color is perfect... exactly what I wanted. I am very impressed.

What a great product. Took an old green leather sofa and using the Walnut dye, turned it into like-new condition. Changing color was no issue at all!

It went on smooth and easily. I had a little problem with streaking but it seems like adding more coats helped. I wish I had before and after pictures as the chair now looks new and it sure did not before.

The bright orange Chesterfield sofa that I brought home for a song was a bit limiting.... and she needed to move to the family room. Reupholstery was $1000. Enter Rub 'n Restore. Even got my 87 year old Mamacita in on the game. It was unbelievably easy...we sponged it on, and it took less than an hour. I kid you not. It has been jumped on, pawed at, slept on, played on ...and is holding up beautifully.

I was very pleased with the coverage of this product. It took a few tries for us to get the color we were looking for (this wasn't it - too flat of a brown) but since it's so affordable it was still worth it!

Here is a review on how it wears with tons of kids, etc. I did a couple colour changes and some mixing of colours as well (and some distressing, fun). My chair went from the original colour of orange to the taupe colour. Then after talking to you about the orange bleeding through, I dyed it with the walnut that you sent. In my space and lighting, it ended up looking kind of like a chocolate bar. So, I mixed some of the taupe, walnut and glaze together after doing several coats of the walnut to make it darker. After that, i took a green scrubby and gently went over it to make it look more distressed. It ended up looking just like the restoration hardware sample I had of distressed whisky. After a year of ware and tear with 6 (now 7) kids, it is starting to look like its sort of scaly? I think it needs conditioning but the clear doesn't quite do it, in this case. I may need to scrub at it a bit in case it just has too many layers or something) and maybe get some of that compound stuff you have if that doesn't work.

Next is my couch. It started out a beige colour. I dyed that to taupe (maybe even when the chair was still taupe) and that was great. it was wearing VERY well. Nothing wearing off at all. It just looked like it had almost a greenish tinge to it...it was probably my imagination. But, it wasn't working for me (I am an incredibly indecisive person...which is why this product works for me). I probably had the wrong idea of the colour it was supposed to be. I must have been expecting (or hoping for) more of a greige or a linen colour. Anyway, I went over that with the walnut as well after a bit and was planning on distressing it to look like the chair but it was working much better for the couch than it did the chair (most likely because the couch had a lot of texture). I actually really liked the way the dye on the couch was wearing down. It gave me the distressed look I like so much. Now, though...it's getting a bit TOO worn out. I can just take my dye and freshen it up if I wanted (and may still do that)....but as I've been changing the room around...I'm feeling like I want to go lighter (again...I'm an indecisive person who likes changing things up). That way if it wears down, it wont be quite as big a contrast. So, I've started work on stripping the dark colour to help that. It's actually coming up quite easily.....I'm wondering if maybe I didn't prep my couch properly and the dye isn't sticking quite as well as it should because of it. But, I do have a ton of kids that are hard on the furniture.

Lots of people have seen my couches and they are really impressed and I know several people have gone and bought some for themselves.

So, my overall review is that the product is easy to use, makes a huge difference and is great because you can change it up whenever you want. But, I think it is probably best if kept close to the original colour (stay dark or stay light) just because it becomes so obvious when it wears down. Neither of my pieces had colour wear, stains or sun fading originally. I just wanted them a different colour. This is a super amazing product, especially if used for its intended purpose (to restore a piece...not drastically change it).

This is the second time I've used Rub 'n Restore, and I like even MORE! It is SO easy to apply, and the results are gorgeous! It dries quickly (almost immediately, actually) and it's so rewarding to redo a leather couch this way. I can't recommend it more enthusiastically.
