Mahogany Vinyl & Leather Finish
Mahogany is our darkest brown with a warm red undertone.

Use our water-based finishes to restore and condition:
- absorbent aniline and semi-aniline leather,
- non-absorbent full-grain or top-grain leather,
- and vinyl upholstery.
Our finishes wonāt sunfade or backstain like leather dyes. They don't feel plasticky, flake or peel like spray paints.
Do not use on fabric, suede, nubuck, bonded or faux leather.
Store in a temperate, dark place away from children.

Changing color is best suited to absorbent leather.
If the material repels water and will be heavily used, consider adding 1 part special order Satin Sealer to 4 parts color to improve durability. Thorough cleaning and stress testing the color are critical!
The following are not good candidates and will require touch-up:
- changing from red / dark to white / pale;
- worn, cracking, scaly or thinning leather;
- furniture with lots of wrinkles, folds, deep creases (and therefore stress);
- pieces that are heavily used or harshly cleaned (kids, dogs, chemicals);
- car or boat upholstery (for these we suggest a heavier urethane coating);
- bonded, faux or polyurethane (PU) āleatherā which repel all finishes (including their own).
Here's what wear looks like on non-absorbent leather or vinyl:

We think it turned out really well. We paid $4,000 for this sectional brand new and the surface broke down soon after we bought it and it became a mess. We are very happy with the ānewā sectional that we have again! Your product is amazing!
Your products rock! My family is so impressed and so am I. I have restored 4 large pieces of furniture with RubnRestore! All look fantastic.
Actually, I did NOT use the Clear Prep + Finish!Ā In pre-experimenting, I noticed that I needed the full strength Dye to get to get the coverage, as you mentioned might happen in your published directions. Ā I had pre-cleaned with alcohol and 409. Ā As it turns-out, the Dye by itself dried with the same sheen as the existing couch sheen!!!Ā I actually only really used two coats.
In trying to repair the worn areas before I found Rub-n-Restore, I went to half a dozen furniture stores in Bakersfield, asking if they carried a dye type repair product.Ā In every case, I was looked at like I had just landed here from another planet; I was astonished!!!Ā I did find one upholstery repair shop that said, if I brought it to him, he could "paint" it for $300!!! Ā I quickly left and came home started Googling!!Ā The reason I spent so much time looking here, is that I wanted someone to talk to face-to-face and maybe see some actual examples of re-dying before somewhat going with blind hope on Google!!!Ā I was most impressed by your website and so here we are, with you with a very happy customer!!!Ā You have an excellent website!!!
You now absolutely have a happy customer in Bakersfield, California!!!
