Our finishes won’t sunfade or backstain like leather dyes. They don't feel plasticky, flake or peel like spray paints. Each bottle comes with gloves and stir stick.
Do not use on fabric, suede, nubuck, bonded or faux leather.
Store in a temperate, dark place away from children.

Changing color is best suited to absorbent leather.
The following are not good candidates and will require touch-up:
Here's what wear looks like:
Touch-up is easy and minimized by:
Whites and off-whites get poorer coverage. If you are changing from dark or red to pale, you may need 2x-3x the volume of color. Consider a coat of Ash or Stone grey as a primer to minimize this.
Our products are water-based acrylic finishes (paints) that look and feel natural. Consider a heavier urethane or aerosol for color changing boat or auto upholstery.
You can order handmade swatches of leather or vinyl refinished with our colors to see how they compare.
Or send us a sample and pay a fee for an exact match (recommended for auto, RV, boat interiors, primary or secondary colors):

One 8 oz bottle of each color was more than enough to complete the entire 1971 Plymouth Duster. Have plenty left over for touch ups .
The price to dye the entire car was much less than to replace one of the door panels.
Normally we do not buy vinyl or leather upholstery because they can cause 3rd degree burns here in Arizona. But this is a classic car and it was built with vinyl seats.

I totally recommend rubnrestore because the shipping is fast , the instruction is clear , and the product give my sofa a new life . I am glad I found this website. Thank you so much
It took me a few hours to do 2 cushions, but with the state of them to begin with, that seems very reasonable.

I only used 1/2 of this bottle on 2 whole Sofas! I’m guessing if I was really changing the color I might’ve used all of it!
I have use lots of leather conditioner is over the years and none of them have been this good!
I won't lie, purchasing Rub n Restore was a salvage mission. I was prepared to replace the couch if it did not turn out satisfactory. After all, 20 years is a good return on money for a couch that has been bounced on, spilled on, vomited on, cried on, slept on, played on, sweated on, and just over all well loved.
But, after 2 days of work, and lots of elbow grease, I do not have to replace our old friend. It is brighter, and the whole room seems happier.
The original color of the couch matched your beige color exactly, but to add a lift, I used 3 parts beige to 1 part ivory color. The difference is stunning.
I tried to take the below pictures in the exact same light, and even though the "before" pics look a little dark and makes you wonder if it is a lighting trick, it is not. The difference is that significant. You would never know the worn areas were ever there, and the leather on the whole couch feels like butter, even over the worn area where I used extra product.
I followed your prep instructions to the T, used the cleaning product you sell, alcohol to de-glaze, very light sanding over the worn areas to make them smooth, and then the Prep and Finish. After that dried, I did some color testing where I came up with the 3:1 ratio I used. I applied multiple thin layers of color. Then topped it all off with 2 laters of Prep and Finish. I did a few touchups after the first layer of Prep and Finish, then the final one.
The worst part of the process was between the cushions, since they are attached. All I can say, if anyone looks between the cushions, they will see a consistent color, but maybe not as even as the rest of the couch!! This would probably be easier with 2 people. Or 3 arms. The video helped, but still, profanity was evoked. And there is paint all over my hair dryer.
The before pictures are after a very thorough cleaning of the entire couch, believe it or not.
Some tips for others:
Follow the directions provided. Watch the videos. Don't take shortcuts.
Move the furniture before you start so you can easily get around all sides and reach all areas without having to move the furniture again.
If the Prep and Finish is foamy as you put it on, your sponge is probably too wet, rinse it in the sink and squeeze it really dry. You will have to do this more frequently than you think.
Clean and re-wet your sponge often when applying color. It makes it go on smoother and more even. It is easy to forget to do it as you are engrossed in the process, then get frustrated that it is not going on as expected. I cleaned my sponge in a sink every 2 "sections". Also, the sponge needed to be a little more wet for the color then for the Prep and Finish.
You may need multiple sponges for a large project that uses many coats. Replace the sponge on the first sign it is degrading (small pieces falling off the sponge). It will only get worse from there. Finding a piece of sponge stuck in your finish stinks!
The shine from Prep and Finish when used as a Finish may show some inconsistencies in the color you did not see before, so be prepared to do color touch-ups and re-coat with the finish.
Shine is awesome!!!! (OK, that is opinion, not a tip)
When you think you have covered everything with color, look again, you probably haven't. Peek in the cracks and around the piping, you really have to be diligent around the piping, especially in the corners. Same with the squishier cushions that have a lot of wrinkles. Stretch the wrinkles out to get good coverage. Just keep looking. Also, look in different lighting. What is perfect in the late night hours under indoor lighting shows imperfections in the light of day (I think there is a country song about this).
Only one person should apply the color. Each person may have a different technique, and it will show in the final finish. This also prevents marital fighting. Or only allow your husband to do the back that is facing the wall.
I find applying the color to the attached back cushions easier if I am standing behind the sofa. Start at the bottom, then work up the cushion back. It decreases back strain for a large project with attached cushions that requires many layers of prep, color, and finish. You just have to make sure to check the evenness of the color application when you do this.
Don't think you will complete a large project in an afternoon. And you don't have to. The product will wait, so will the furniture.
Don't be afraid. You can fix any application imperfections you don't like. Also, leather is not perfect, so your final finish will not be either. Some of the beauty in leather are the imperfections.
It worked well with the pigmented leather that was beige.
Oh and yes, besides being a tremendous product the owners have a wonderful business ethic, they strive for customer satisfaction, are generous with their time and advice. We did not buy anything that we did not need! Top notch. Thank you so very much!
Thanks for a great product that really works!

It took me about 6 hours to do the three couches and two ottomans, but, I figure it would have taken more than that to shop for new ones. Amazing!
I am blown away by how well my sofa looks - it looks brand new. I am delighted and so pleased that I was able to do this myself. I am so delighted that I didn't buy a new sofa.

My wife was amazed and immediately posted pictures on Facebook where friends inquired how I restored our couches.
Great product, highly recommended for anyone with pets that may have damaged the coloring and finish.
Thank you Rub N' Restore you saved me a lot of $$$$$
History of this sofa…my parents gave us the sofa because when they got it there was a scratch and after the store repaired it, it still was flawed, so they had it reupholstered with pleather (I still call it naugahyde.) The color did not match at all and my Mom covered the back with 2 throws. She couldn’t stand it and bought another Natuzzi leather sectional and gave us this one. Well, we have 5 herding dogs and believe our dogs live with us and are allowed on the sofas, but time and use take their toll. THANK YOU RUB N’ RESTORE!
The color had deteriorated so badly that I needed to either replace the furniture, at a cost of about $800 or find another solution. So, I searched the internet for a solution and stumbled upon Rub n Restore’s site. I viewed a ‘youtube’ video of your dye being applied to a sofa and thought that, if this is true, it could save me a lot of money.
While being credulous, I ordered your beige dye and applied two coats to both my sofa and chair. Later, I applied one coat of your clear prep. The total time that it took me to restore my furniture, with your products was about 4 hours and the process was easy. I must say that your product was all that you advertised that it would be. My sofa and chair now look like new, when purchased. I must say that all your advertisements/promises for your dye and clear prep products were true. I am very happy and thank you.
