My leather couch is over 20 years old, has been used by hundreds of kids/teens over the years, and 3 dogs (who all love the window perch). The room is not used that frequently since the kids are grown, and looking at the couch in this condition made me sad. The leather was not damaged beyond the wear, the bones were all still very good, and it fits the location perfectly. The color was not terrible, but a little dated and dingy. I won't lie, purchasing Rub n Restore was a salvage mission. I was prepared to replace the couch if it did not turn out satisfactory.

After all, 20 years is a good return on money for a couch that has been bounced on, spilled on, vomited on, cried on, slept on, played on, sweated on, and just over all well loved.

But, after 2 days of work, and lots of elbow grease, I do not have to replace our old friend. It is brighter, and the whole room seems happier.

The original color of the couch matched your beige color exactly, but to add a lift, I used 3 parts beige to 1 part ivory color. The difference is stunning.

I tried to take the below pictures in the exact same light, and even though the "before" pics look a little dark and makes you wonder if it is a lighting trick, it is not. The difference is that significant. You would never know the worn areas were ever there, and the leather on the whole couch feels like butter, even over the worn area where I used extra product.

I followed your prep instructions to the T, used the cleaning product you sell, alcohol to de-glaze, very light sanding over the worn areas to make them smooth, and then the Prep and Finish. After that dried, I did some color testing where I came up with the 3:1 ratio I used. I applied multiple thin layers of color. Then topped it all off with 2 laters of Prep and Finish. I did a few touchups after the first layer of Prep and Finish, then the final one.

The worst part of the process was between the cushions, since they are attached. All I can say, if anyone looks between the cushions, they will see a consistent color, but maybe not as even as the rest of the couch!! This would probably be easier with 2 people. Or 3 arms. The video helped, but still, profanity was evoked. And there is paint all over my hair dryer.

The before pictures are after a very thorough cleaning of the entire couch, believe it or not.

    Some tips for others:

Follow the directions provided. Watch the videos. Don't take shortcuts.

Move the furniture before you start so you can easily get around all sides and reach all areas without having to move the furniture again.

If the Prep and Finish is foamy as you put it on, your sponge is probably too wet, rinse it in the sink and squeeze it really dry. You will have to do this more frequently than you think.

Clean and re-wet your sponge often when applying color. It makes it go on smoother and more even. It is easy to forget to do it as you are engrossed in the process, then get frustrated that it is not going on as expected. I cleaned my sponge in a sink every 2 "sections". Also, the sponge needed to be a little more wet for the color then for the Prep and Finish.

You may need multiple sponges for a large project that uses many coats. Replace the sponge on the first sign it is degrading (small pieces falling off the sponge). It will only get worse from there. Finding a piece of sponge stuck in your finish stinks!

The shine from Prep and Finish when used as a Finish may show some inconsistencies in the color you did not see before, so be prepared to do color touch-ups and re-coat with the finish.

Shine is awesome!!!! (OK, that is opinion, not a tip)

When you think you have covered everything with color, look again, you probably haven't. Peek in the cracks and around the piping, you really have to be diligent around the piping, especially in the corners. Same with the squishier cushions that have a lot of wrinkles. Stretch the wrinkles out to get good coverage. Just keep looking. Also, look in different lighting. What is perfect in the late night hours under indoor lighting shows imperfections in the light of day (I think there is a country song about this).

Only one person should apply the color. Each person may have a different technique, and it will show in the final finish. This also prevents marital fighting. Or only allow your husband to do the back that is facing the wall.

I find applying the color to the attached back cushions easier if I am standing behind the sofa. Start at the bottom, then work up the cushion back. It decreases back strain for a large project with attached cushions that requires many layers of prep, color, and finish. You just have to make sure to check the evenness of the color application when you do this.

Don't think you will complete a large project in an afternoon. And you don't have to. The product will wait, so will the furniture.

Don't be afraid. You can fix any application imperfections you don't like. Also, leather is not perfect, so your final finish will not be either. Some of the beauty in leather are the imperfections.

I didn't have good results with beige over wine. it seems to rub off.

It worked well with the pigmented leather that was beige.

The before picture was after I spent $300 on an interior car detail. Not clean.  Your product was just what was needed to freshen my seats up!  I made a mistake and bought the car at night. I wasn’t able to get a good look at the interior. I swear an old mechanic drove it. The grease was everywhere. It’s been quite a deep-spring-cleaning project. Did the whole interior. Mitsubishi Montero.

I wanted to reach out to you and thank you for giving my couch another life. In just 2 hours, my sectional was transformed from a dirty, old, warn out, ready to be thrown out , into the condition it was in when we first bought it 10 years ago. Three energetic kids later, and our beige couch was looking very sad and disgusting. We recently moved into a new house. It was looking so old in the middle of a freshly painted living room. But with the move, we could not afford to replace it, at the moment. I figured I had nothing to loose. I was very skeptical about this purchase. But with the move, we could not afford to replace it, at the moment. I figured I had nothing to loose. I was very skeptical about this purchase. I saw your videos and read the reviews, and everything sounded magical. I was having a hard time believing it was that simple. It really was. My couch looks so good, we will keep it for at least another 10 years. My husband was so impressed, he will be using the remaining product for his leather car seats. That means a lot, coming from him. He would never use anything on his beloved car, that he did not think was great.   We have gone through so many leather cleaners, at least to clean out the dirt on the couch. And could not get it any where near the cleanliness the Flite got us within minutes.   Beige dye matched perfectly with the color of the sectional. I did request the free samples. I am so glad I did not skip that step. I was ready to order Ivory and Clean and Clear. But when the samples came, Beige without the coat was what I needed.   The dye is also so forgiving. No streaks, do not need to be super careful how to apply it to the leather. It just blends in perfectly. Thank you so much for transforming our sectional into a brand new one.

I bought a beige/almond recliner chair that after 3 months of use the color started fading and an ugly bluish stain appeared on the left armrest and headrest. I contacted the furniture store and the only we got out of them was a 10% refund. Anyone can transform their letter or vinyl furniture in a matter of hous depending on how many layers you apply to obtain the desired color. My friends don’t believe is the same chair. The results surpassed my expectations!!

Excellent product. Quite literally amazing. Does a fantastic job of renewing our 30+ year old Italian leather sectional. Applies beautifully, evenly and is resistant. Our living room has been completely refreshed at a lot less than $10,000 for a comparable new sofa. Money left over for a new area rug, four designer cushions and money in the bank! We are just delighted .... dancing a jig! Oh and yes, besides being a tremendous product the owners have a wonderful business ethic, they strive for customer satisfaction, are generous with their time and advice. We did not buy anything that we did not need! Top notch. Thank you so very much...More

This is literally a miracle product. I should note that I have a real buckskin leather couch so that may have helped with how good the color took but I was seriously amazed. We had permanent marker that our kids colored all over our couch and this dye completely covered it up and made my couches look brand new! It was so easy to apply and dried so quickly. My buckskin leather just soaked it up! I was very skeptical but didn’t want to purchase a whole new couch so thought I’d give it a shot and was soooo happy with how it turned out. My wife wanted to replace our tired old beige leather sectional sofa. Our dog had "dug" on the surface of two of the cushions leaving them very scuffed looking. Other than that, the sofa is in good condition. After some internet searching on how to repair or recondition leather furniture, I found this company. I gently sanded the scuffed cushions with #320 sandpaper as per the directions. Then I simply applied the Beige Rub 'n Restore Dye with a damp sponge. We're both amazed at how nice it looks again! For less than $100.00 we have an old sofa that looks as good as new!

Thanks for a great product that really works!

This product was so easy to apply and covered scrapes, scratches and worn places made by my dog. I sanded the areas lightly, used clear prep and finish, before and after. It took several coats on the worn area, only one coat on the rest as I was not changing the color. I still have enough product to do another sofa. It looks like new leather now....I am very pleased.

I am impressed by the results, beyond words. It took 2 hours, and my couch looks brand new. I was skeptical that it will turn out to look painted or the colors won't look right. It came out looking like the first day we got it delivered, 10 years ago. A beige couch and a house with 3 energetic kids is just a bad combination to begin with. I was hoping for something that looks OK, and ended up with perfection. It's great that I was able to get samples before picking the dye. I was ready to order Ivory, but then decided to request the samples, just in case. And of course, Beige was the perfect match.

I think if it was the right color I would be very happy. Not the fault of rub n restore I picked out the color looking at the pictures. Was a lot lighter than the pic showed. Going to send in a sample of the material and see if they can match the color.
