Didn't work for my project
The color was much lighter than the picture indicated and the product way runnier than I expected.
Afterwards, restored to beauty

Stunning Transformation
Our leather sofa, which we've loved for the last 14 years, was severely sun damaged with faded pigment and dry cracked leather, but otherwise in good condition. Several years ago, my husband had tried another company's leather coloring & conditioning product with lackluster results. So, when he found Rub n Restore, I was extremely skeptical that it would work. I couldn't have been more wrong ... the final result was truly stunning. Our much loved sofa now has many more years of life in it. We couldn't be happier with the results! And a big shout out to Lesandre for her advice and guidance on our project, super helpful!

Absolutely, amazing!!!
We purchased this end table at the General Store in Yellowstone National Park during our visit in April 2025. I liked the craftsmanship of the table a lot; unfortunately, not so much about the colors. Thanks to Rub ‘n Restore website, it lead me to one of the colors from their selection — Pebble!
I wanted to have a neutral color so it can blended in with the furniture in our living room. Wow!!! What’s a wonderful transformation for me to see the final result – it is beautiful, subtle, warm and one-of-a-kind piece of furniture that now I can proudly say “I love it sooo much!!!”

Thank you very much to Rub ‘n Restore Team!

Brand new look and SOOO easy
My favorite chair was discolored from dozing with wet hair. I was convinced that I would have to have it recovered. I stumbled upon the Rub n Restore website and decided to get a few sample colors. Luckily, one of the stock tints was perfect. I could not believe how easy and fast the process was, and how wonderful the chair looked. As a reluctant DIYer, my only regret is all the furniture bargains I passed up because of leather flaws that I was afraid to tackle. I have bragged and sent photos to all of my “crafty” friends!

This stuff is AMAZING!
A friend recommended this product and the online reviews and photos looked too good to be true so I decided to try it. After some much appreciated help with color matching swatches, I can't believe how great Rub'n Restore worked on my Stressless chair and ottoman. It looks like new AND it was so easy to use. I'm going to be telling everyone about your great product.

Miracle worker!!!!!
If I could leave more stars, I would. I had just gotten a "new to me" boat. I used it for a weekend and covered it up for the week. The cover was black and it was 100 degrees all week. I thought I was doing right by covering it up. Little did I know that the black cover would burn my seats. I was devastated. I start googling and came across Rub N Restore. I was skeptical that it would work like advertised, but it had good reviews so I thought I would give it a try. My seats look new again! I 100% will be recommending this product for anyone that has the issue I had. I'm so happy I found this! It was easy to put on. I just brushed ...More

This product is incredible. Totally transformed the boat seats on my 2001 Hurricane Deck boat. Easy to use just rubbing it on with a sponge.

What a difference.
Restored a 22 year old lounge chair which was beige but faded in many sections. Used a 4oz bottle to darken the color to sand. Four coats. 90-120 minutes and absolutely satisfied. Will definitely use again if needed and recommend to others.

Never give up!
My couch is about 30 years old and was stored in the game room upstairs. A stray dog showed up one day, sick and injured. I let her in the house and she immediately jumped on my couch and bled on the cushion. Be still my heart... The stain appeared to be permanent and I was heartbroken over her injury and my couch. The couch was already old and weary. I thought I might spruce it up a bit by dyeing it. I spent hours online looking at various products before deciding to by from Rub N' Restore. The couch was already old and weary. I thought I might spruce it up a bit by dyeing it. I spent hours online looking at various products before deciding to by from Rub N' Restore. I was drawn to the color "Mustard." No other site carried the color selections that Rub N Restore carried and for the life of me I couldn't understand why I kept coming back to this particular color. When I received the product I was a bit dismayed because it was watery and thin. There was plenty of color in the product, but in the past I used thicker creamy products. Finally I figured, "What the heck, I'll just give it a go." The couch had so many color variations due to age, wear, and stains, that it required several coats to satisfy me. Each coat dries quickly. It is easy to give it 3 coats in one day. I communicated with the company regarding my concerns and they responded in record time with ideas and suggestions. Great company! If you think you can't do this, think again. I am 76 years old with very little experience in "dyeing" leather. I am pleased with the outcome and the crazy color.

Color Off
The product worked as expected but the color was different than expected from the photos. I would strongly recommend purchasing swatches prior to starting your project. I now have a full bottle of stain and I’m debating if trying another color is worth the extra money.

LA Z BOY Mahogany leather chairs
Ordered the sample (only $1.00) and the color was exact. Ordered the mahogany leather dye and the clear prep and finish sealer and my chairs look new again. One chairs is 18 years old, the other is 12 years old. The product is easy to use, just follow the instructions.

This seems like a very good product but my results were not very good for car seat repair. I took my time and followed instructions to the letter. My main issues were that it took hours for the product to dry and that was using a hair dryer and having the car in the sun on a 75 degree day. The worst part was the product was not sand able at all. It dried to a sticky consistency that remained no matter how dry it was. I will say that it did make a solid repair in the leather which looks like it will hold up but it is just not pretty like in all the how you videos I’m sorry to say.
Reply from Lesandre Barley:
Perforated leather repairs are a challenge, especially near a seam! This is a good first attempt. Know that you can always rework a repair. Simply remove the color with alcohol. This will also melt the filler somewhat and even out the surface (and is the solution if sanding is causing the filler to peel up). Please note that the instructions specifically say do not use a hair dryer, as it can push moisture inward and prevent the filler from properly curing. The sun alone will do the trick with some time. Bring it back to the shade to cool before applying more, and always work in thin layers. Here are repair instructions specific for perforate...More

A final texturizing coat reduces the tacky feeling, as does color. More info is on the filler troubleshooting page.

First time working with restoring leather. Directions/instructions were great. Product was excellent and did what it said it would do. Color easily covered the leather with 2 coats. Excellent company and product.

I was thrilled with both the color and ease of application. I had a 4" square that was damaged. You would never be a le to tell where it was after Rub n Restore. Thanks!

Magic!
I love vintage, leather furniture so when I found this chair with matching ottoman I snatched it up! I wasn’t keen on the color, and it some pretty serious fading issues making it look tired and unattractive. I searched for a product that would restore its splendor. I found Rub n Restore and that’s literally all it took to bring this gorgeous set back to life. It couldn’t be easier! And what a transformation!
Thanks for a great product that does exactly what it says it’ll do!

Update
It was suggested that I add blue acrylic paint to the custom color to help the color look less orange. After adding the blue paint to the custom color and applying it to the faded areas I am happy with the finished look. The new color covered and blended well, and it no longer looks orange.
Reply from Lesandre Barley:
Wonderful, good job tweaking with the blue, and thanks for the updated review and persevering with the restoration.
