Customer Reviews & Photos of Rub 'n Restore®

Miracle worker!!!!!
If I could leave more stars, I would. I had just gotten a "new to me" boat. I used it for a weekend and covered it up for the week. The cover was black and it was 100 degrees all week. I thought I was doing right by covering it up. Little did I know that the black cover would burn my seats. I was devastated. I start googling and came across Rub N Restore. I was skeptical that it would work like advertised, but it had good reviews so I thought I would give it a try. My seats look new again! I 100% will be recommending this product for anyone that has the issue I had. I'm so happy I found this! It was easy to put on. I just brushed ...More

(I'm a woman) It was actually fun to do 🙂
Amazing !!!!
This product is incredible. Totally transformed the boat seats on my 2001 Hurricane Deck boat. Easy to use just rubbing it on with a sponge.
22 year old chair

What a difference.
Restored a 22 year old lounge chair which was beige but faded in many sections. Used a 4oz bottle to darken the color to sand. Four coats. 90-120 minutes and absolutely satisfied. Will definitely use again if needed and recommend to others.
Never give up!
My couch is about 30 years old and was stored in the game room upstairs. A stray dog showed up one day, sick and injured. I let her in the house and she immediately jumped on my couch and bled on the cushion. Be still my heart... The stain appeared to be permanent and I was heartbroken over her injury and my couch. The couch was already old and weary. I thought I might spruce it up a bit by dyeing it. I spent hours online looking at various products before deciding to by from Rub N' Restore. The couch was already old and weary. I thought I might spruce it up a bit by dyeing it. I spent hours online looking at various products before deciding to by from Rub N' Restore. I was drawn to the color "Mustard." No other site carried the color selections that Rub N Restore carried and for the life of me I couldn't understand why I kept coming back to this particular color. When I received the product I was a bit dismayed because it was watery and thin. There was plenty of color in the product, but in the past I used thicker creamy products. Finally I figured, "What the heck, I'll just give it a go." The couch had so many color variations due to age, wear, and stains, that it required several coats to satisfy me. Each coat dries quickly. It is easy to give it 3 coats in one day. I communicated with the company regarding my concerns and they responded in record time with ideas and suggestions. Great company! If you think you can't do this, think again. I am 76 years old with very little experience in "dyeing" leather. I am pleased with the outcome and the crazy color.
This stuff is amazing. It works great the people there are so helpful and they’re glad to help you. I would highly recommend.
Color Off
The product worked as expected but the color was different than expected from the photos. I would strongly recommend purchasing swatches prior to starting your project. I now have a full bottle of stain and I’m debating if trying another color is worth the extra money.
LA Z BOY Mahogany leather chairs
Ordered the sample (only $1.00) and the color was exact. Ordered the mahogany leather dye and the clear prep and finish sealer and my chairs look new again. One chairs is 18 years old, the other is 12 years old. The product is easy to use, just follow the instructions.

This seems like a very good product but my results were not very good for car seat repair. I took my time and followed instructions to the letter. My main issues were that it took hours for the product to dry and that was using a hair dryer and having the car in the sun on a 75 degree day. The worst part was the product was not sand able at all. It dried to a sticky consistency that remained no matter how dry it was. I will say that it did make a solid repair in the leather which looks like it will hold up but it is just not pretty like in all the how you videos I’m sorry to say.
Perforated leather repairs are a challenge, especially near a seam! This is a good first attempt. Know that you can always rework a repair. Simply remove the color with alcohol. This will also melt the filler somewhat and even out the surface (and is the solution if sanding is causing the filler to peel up). Please note that the instructions specifically say do not use a hair dryer, as it can push moisture inward and prevent the filler from properly curing. The sun alone will do the trick with some time. Bring it back to the shade to cool before applying more, and always work in thin layers. Here are repair instructions specific for perforate...More

A final texturizing coat reduces the tacky feeling, as does color. More info is on the filler troubleshooting page.
Thank you
Your products have worked great for my leather furniture. I have 2 cats and a dog. Repairs are sometimes needed.
I was thrilled with both the color and ease of application. I had a 4" square that was damaged. You would never be a le to tell where it was after Rub n Restore. Thanks!
Magic!
I love vintage, leather furniture so when I found this chair with matching ottoman I snatched it up! I wasn’t keen on the color, and it some pretty serious fading issues making it look tired and unattractive. I searched for a product that would restore its splendor. I found Rub n Restore and that’s literally all it took to bring this gorgeous set back to life. It couldn’t be easier! And what a transformation!
Thanks for a great product that does exactly what it says it’ll do!

I’m truly amazed at how well this stuff works!
Motorcycle seat

Update
It was suggested that I add blue acrylic paint to the custom color to help the color look less orange. After adding the blue paint to the custom color and applying it to the faded areas I am happy with the finished look. The new color covered and blended well, and it no longer looks orange.
Wonderful, good job tweaking with the blue, and thanks for the updated review and persevering with the restoration.
On the really faded areas the custom color did not match well with the rest of the couch and looks almost orange. On the areas where the leather wasn’t faded it blended better. I was really hoping to blend the areas that were super faded which is why I went with a custom color so that it matched well. I ended up having to wipe a lot of it off on the faded areas because the color didn’t match the rest of the couch, which unfortunately defeats the purpose of trying to fix the faded areas. I’m disappointed that the color didn’t match well and looks orangish on the faded areas.

I do really like how the product works and adheres to the leather and if the color had matched better would have been really happy with the product.

We're sorry to hear you're having difficulty. As per our correspondence, your leather is a varied print with multiple colors. We agreed that matching the medium print color was the best approach. This color is more orange than the lighter base color. We sent a portion of it back to you showing color applied in a solid patch as well as printed. Would you agree this looks good on the swatch?
Solutions:
1) Be sure the color is thoroughly stirred.
2) Be minimalist! Use a brush to put the color on the sponge, so it leaves a very fine, light print when touched to the leather. Don't dip the sponge into the paint, as this lays it on too thickly and ...More

3) Be sure to buff the dried color with dry rag. This polishes it and deepens, ameliorating the orange tone.
4) If necessary, you can neutralize the orange tone a bit by adding a drop or blue acrylic paint.

Restored Boat Vinyl

Dreams do come true
Working my way through a midlife crisis and bought a 16 year old boat with vinyl seats that looked like they were from a crime scene. Used the marine white and made the seats look so good the reflection from the sun on the restored vinyl actually sunburned my eyes. Thanks to this magical stuff, the future's so bright I gotta wear shades.
Boat cushions
Easy to use; works as described. Fixed some scuffs on the cushions!
Sofa
The product was easy to apply and my sofa looks much better. I wish I would have used a darker color thou because the really light parts of the leather did not get as dark as the other less worn places, but it still looks good.
Covers well. Easy to apply. Only thing is doesn’t go very far so because of price ends up being expensive to finish job. 👊👍
