   Terrible product

   Did my research, followed full videos and instructions and this looks worse then when I started off. Would never have purchased this and now can't remove and go back to how it was. $70 or so wasted for a product that is not in the least bit dyable and now I am left with a white patch. I wanted to test the colorability before I finished sanding smooth. For starters, the leather/vinyl repair cream has a terrible rubbery texture that comes right off when you sand 2-3 days after drying. Secondly, it will take no color. The patch repair kit i was sent it white denim, so now my black leather seat has a big white, rubbery patch. Would have looked better had I used electrical tape. Couldn't even fill a small cut correctly because it doesn't take color.

If you did purchase our color and it isn't adhering, please email us for a full refund. If the color came from somewhere else, that manufacturer will know their product better than we do, since ours is formulated to bond to our filler specifically.

If you did purchase our color and it isn't adhering, please email us for a full refund. If the color came from somewhere else, that manufacturer will know their product better than we do, since ours is formulated to bond to our filler specifically.
   
   
   
   A couple of things from the photo that may help. That opening looks larger than two inches, and our instructions call for a top patch in addition to the subpatch at that size. The top patch should cover the white backing (and either way, our colors should dry fully opaque.)
   
   
   
   The filler also goes on in thin coats with each one dried fully before the next. A thick application stays soft in the middle and will roll off under sandpaper days later, exactly as you describe. Smooth it as much as you can, do the final smoothing with rubbing alcohol, then apply a texturing coat.

   This seems like a very good product but my results were not very good for car seat repair. I took my time and followed instructions to the letter. My main issues were that it took hours for the product to dry and that was using a hair dryer and having the car in the sun on a 75 degree day. The worst part was the product was not sand able at all. It dried to a sticky consistency that remained no matter how dry it was. I will say that it did make a solid repair in the leather which looks like it will hold up but it is just not pretty like in all the how you videos I’m sorry to say.

   Perforated leather repairs are a challenge, especially near a seam! This is a good first attempt. Know that you can always rework a repair. Simply remove the color with alcohol. This will also melt the filler somewhat and even out the surface (and is the solution if sanding is causing the filler to peel up). Please note that the instructions specifically say do not use a hair dryer, as it can push moisture inward and prevent the filler from properly curing. The sun alone will do the trick with some time. Bring it back to the shade to cool before applying more, and always work in thin layers. Here are repair instructions specific for perforate...More

   Miraculous

   The kit had everything I needed and very easy to use especially with the instructional videos. I absolutely cannot believe how awesome this product is. It is truly a miracle.
   You can see outline still b/c fabric wasn’t tight enough . But overall it looks better

   Helped repair thrifter chair

   This is definitely a labor of love- and it is has a learning curve. I had to cut away quite a bit of the old repair because they used a glue that hardened. It doesn’t look like new but it looks so much better. Very grateful for these products. They were easy to use and remove as I made adjustments. I purchased all the repair items and paint. I would use less fabric and make sure it was more taut the next time.

   Repair

   We were very pleased with the results. The color was very close. Next time we will get the clear to give the chair that glossy look. But overall we couldn’t have asked for anything better. Wish we had found you earlier!!!

   Repaired cracks

   I used another product prior to finding yours and it was a disaster. Repair would have gone better is I didn’t use and remove the other product first however I am very pleased with how it came out.

   I purchased a Scandinavian MCM sofa that had terrible cracking of the leather & a 2" tear that was badly patched. I watched all the videos & bought all the products to repair. I also wanted to change color from. British tan to Persimmon. I realized I had more questions than the videos provided so I also purchased a consultation for $15. They responded in under 15 minutes!!! I am so pleased with the results and all my friends love how it turned out. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

   Super Easy! Like it never happened.

   Key is understanding cleaning sanding preparation , how to properly apply the filler, learning to use the spreader blade and card, sometimes in sequential layers and light sanding or even alcohol on a rag light rubbing and letting it dry thoroughly. The videos show and explain everything. On a big project start small and learn. You can go back and fine tune for texture and smoothing. Honestly it’s very forgiving and you can refine your early efforts.
   
   We were able to restore a very large sectional of two days in our living room over about 6-8 hours!!!

   Simply Amazing!!

   I have an ottoman that was gifted to us in pretty rough shape. The leather was pretty flaky from an old cat pee stain. I was able to confidently treat and fix it with the instructional video and soft filler! It was very satisfying to do! I was able to manage doing this with 3 large dogs, 3 cats (major culprits of damaging furniture), and 3 kids 3 and under!
   I wish I recorded my husbands face when he saw the ottoman after fixing it.
   
   I did a color change as well and I forgot to use a wet sponge at first... so follow all instructions haha. I love these products and this company!

   I wanted my mom to hang on to her 25 year old stressless chair, but the arms were in really sad shape. One arm had a large hole and both had severe cracking from years of wear. I used the subpatch kit, the leather filler repair kit, the leather glue and the beige leather finish. The transformation was miraculous to say the least. I've included a before and after photo. The "before" photo doesn't tell the whole story because I took it after gluing in the subpatch. The hole was gaping with stuffing coming out. Everyone in the family is amazed at the results. RubnRestore is the best!!!

   Worked well for my needs

   Using the filler was extremely easy. I did 3 light coats as per the video. It dried fairly quickly. When I added the colorant, I could still see the filler. I didn't want to add another coat of colorant, so I can see where I made the repairs. But it always like that when it is your own work. The texture of that sections is not the same as the rest of the couch but it is an 85% improvement.

   one year later...

   Nearly a year ago, I refinished our leather living room furniture. It still looks amazing! The large hole you taught me how to repair is still 100% intact. And, drumroll, the dogs don’t sit on the furniture! Hope you’ve done alright during the past year. I recommended you to someone recently and hope she follows up. Take good care.
