The leather that was being restored was of a high grade, with a waxed finish, walnut color. I was skeptical about applying any dye, but the pieces were so faded I had nothing to lose. The product was shipped promptly, and included instruction, plastic gloves and stirrers. I first mixed 1 teaspoon of walnut colorant with 1 teaspoon of glaze (1:1 ratio). This was then applied to a hidden, test area of the sofa. After a few tries with various ratios and application methods, a near perfect match was achieved using a sponge as the applicator. The entire process was not fast however, as the two pieces took about 10 hours in total to fully complete. That included some second applications to better blend some areas that were not to my liking. The dying process was completed with application of a coat of glaze. The results were excellent.
The project was completed by installing fabric cushion wrap, purchased at a craft store, around the existing foam inserts. This restored some of the firmness the cushions had lost, and removed many stretch wrinkles the leather received over 15 years. I done this step after the dying, but should have done it before hand. Doing it before hand will smooth the wrinkles and make dye application easier. The project was straight forward, requires no experience. The finish product did not looked “painted”, but very natural.

Here are before/after pictures of my lay-z-boy. I used Red Chili. I bought a 16 oz. bottle, but I would be surprised if I used more than 3 oz. I finished it with a single coat of prep n finish.

Only took an hour to totally transform my 25 year old leather sectional. Before it was all marked up and drab, after using this it looks great and my wife has stopped asking for a new sofa!! Well worth the time and moneyl

I was a skeptic, but not anymore. Your product is amazing! We live on a lake and our boat stays on a boat lift throughout the summer and since we use it almost every day in the summer for that morning ski run we had gotten lazy about covering our boat. The summer sun took its toll on our interior. Thus it became a decision to use your product or reupholster our 2000 Mastercraft for about $3500.

Our furniture was looked pretty sad with a lot of areas faded. Trying this product was the last chance at getting it fixed. We were planning on shopping for new furniture if it didn't work. Well, the furniture looks brand new after using the product. We couldn't believe it but it worked so well !!! As a matter of fact, we like the new color much better than the original color (walnut vinyland leather)!!! Thank you for a wonderful product. Amazing!!!

I bought a set of used Lane leather furniture (we have an English Mastiff -- need I say more?). It's in good condition but the leather was starting to look a little tired and scratched. I spent hours scouring the internet and came across the RNR videos. I decided to give it a try and just... wow. I've only refinished the ottoman so far but it literally looks new. I'm eager to get started on the couch and chair now. This product is super easy to use, is true to color and doesn't seem to require an MFA to produce a nice, consistent finish.

Got this for a couch to re-dye from dark brown to white! Worked amazingly despite my initial expectation to disappointingly say "let's give it a shot!" Now a year after now the white couch is still shining with solid color! Would definitely recommend and now buying a camel dye for my car's seat.

We are in the business of restoration of structures in historical districts and preservation of furniture and artifacts. Current projects include structures in Ft Worth Texas and Taos New Mexico. Your products have proven to be versatile performers and superior products, and we saved a few hundred dollars for reupholstering with new leather on these two chairs. The end result was better than new leather, inasmuch as the surface condition was renewed while retaining much of the well earned, period appropriate character of the old leather.

Warning: I'm going to sound like an infomercial! But, WOW! Look at the difference!
After some water damage to one of our leather couch cushions I was ready to get rid of the set. Then I found Rub 'n Restore.. I was super skeptical, but thought it was worth a shot. OH MY GOSH it was so easy and looks great! AND it only took about a half hour (most of that was waiting to be sure it was dry between layers). A huge shout-out to Rub ‘n Restore, Inc. for walking me through this process, helping select the right colors (a mixture of Mahogany and Walnut) and convincing me I could do this! Seriously amazing! Our white, fine leather sofa was (I thought) beyond saving. As a last ditch effort we tried Rub N Restore.
It is totally white again, and the feel is not that different from the original surface. We are amazed! I have a before and after photo - totally impressed and very happy!!!!

The result is amazing.
