Clear Prep+Finish™ can dry rather glossy when applied with a sponge as a final topcoat. This is because the sponge applies a thicker film than spraying.

Here’s how to avoid a glossy finish:
- Use two damp sponges, one to apply the clear finish and a second to disperse and thin it out before the finish begins to dry.
- Work with a glaze (mixture of color and clear). A 1:1 or 2:1 ratio will yield a semi-gloss finish. A 4:1 ratio will get a more subdued satin finish.
- Or go over the clear completely with more color for a duller finish. Note that reds, blues, Plum and Butterscotch require an additional clear finish, so the special order Satin Sealer is recommended when a matte finish is desired.

This is a follow up question to a question I sent earlier this morning basically I was asking about your satin finish as the original on my test area was too shiny. In addition to that question was wondering if after I was done I could use the spray leather conditioner I have used before application of rub & restore that might be enough of a shine?
